Why women have breasts and we dont?
Scythian horses are not afraid of water. They could have reached the sides of our ship long before the waters grew too deep to follow. Why in blazes did their riders not-
Lifting their bows, the Amazons let loose burning arrows. Attis gasped as he same them soaring above, scattering a flock of ravens. His mouth widened, his skin turned pale.
Coughing up blood, Attis fell on his knees, feeling his life force flowing out of him. He also felt the gathering warmth behind him, as the fires, unchecked by the impending rain, spread, nearing his sandals. Soon the sail was engulfed, along with the oars. Attis watched the shore, his shaking, payday loans online bad credit Arizona now burning body not distracting him as he glared at Hippolyta, curses forming on his lips.
The ship collapsed, Attis falling into splinters and flame. As most of the Amazons yelled in victory, Hippolyta smiled smugly.
What youve just read is a fictional story, yet one with a basis in fact. Although the idea of an all-female, man butchering tribe of women never existed, the myth was based on both the Scythians and Sarmatians, ancient nomadic peoples of Europe and Asia who were well known for their warrior women. Such women could kick butt while both on foot or on horseback, and numerous burials of them have been found by archeologists.
Mind you, these women were not the only warrior women in history. Women warriors were known to sometimes fight alongside elephants in southeast Asia, even riding some into battle.
His joy soon gave way to puzzlement
Celtic women fought alongside their men until 700 AD, and the Vikings had shield maidens, warrior women whose historical existence was recently confirmed.
Throughout history, the vast, vast, vast, vast, VAST majority of warriors, the vast majority of those who marched in armies, who drew swords and fired arrows in battles…were dudes.
Indeed, in many, if not most ancient cultures, armies were 100% male. Even in cultures like the Scythians, who had warrior women, the majority of troops were still male.
Side note: Before we begin, if you are someone who thinks that men are better than women at everything, and that women are inferior to men…this isnt your article. Though mens MANY physical advantages in combat WILL be examined, as you will soon see, women do have some biological advantages over men, including some that can be useful in combat…
Okay, for those among you reading this who think that biological gender is a social construct, I have to caution you right now; take a heart tablet.
We have to face the above fact, which many (sadly within my own generation and the younger generation, it seems) dont want to acknowledge.
Men and women are designed differently. Ever wonder why men cant have babies, and women can? Why women are usually smaller and have a wider hip? Well, thats because of DESIGN! Men and women differ in many ways. There are some things that women have an advantage over men, and other things where men have the advantage, all thanks to how we are designed. One way men and women differ is when it comes to…another drum roll…strength.
Women generally have only 60% of a mans upper body strength, and 67% of a mans lower body strength. This isnt simply due to the fact that men are generally larger than women; mens muscle fibers have a greater cross section in individual muscle fibers than those of women. Men also have 50% more upper body muscle that women, with 26% more skeletal muscle overall.
